Most people would just think he is slightly awkward or introverted before actually interacting and having a conversation with him. After that, most would be able to tell that something is slightly off. Some would try to help, some might even try to take advantage of him, but most will just avoid him and ignore him. He is very naive, though, since he has been living in his own world.
